Privacy Policy

• Your account. Your name, email address, phone number and password when you sign up, or your name and email address from Google if you sign in with Google.
• Tour requests, inquiries and messages. The details you enter when you request a tour or contact a community — such as your name, email, phone number, preferred dates and your message — and the messages you exchange with that community afterwards.
• Contact forms. Your name, email address and message when you write to us.
• The care questionnaire. Your answers about the care you or a loved one may need. They are saved in your browser, and to your account if you are signed in.
• Saved communities. The communities you bookmark while signed in.
• Companion questions. The questions you ask the AI companion on a community's page. Your questions are sent to Google Gemini to generate an answer. We do not save them to your account or our database — we keep only a count of how many you have asked, to limit use — though a question can appear in our server error logs when an answer fails.
• Community owners and staff. If you manage a community on KinnList, the information you submit to claim or update its listing.

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site: which pages are viewed, which communities are viewed most, the site that referred you, and general device, browser and approximate location information. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) to recognize a returning browser.
• We limit what analytics receives. Page addresses are stripped of everything except a short list of search filters (such as care type, city, state and search radius), so the address, ZIP code or location you search from is not sent. Email-verification link pages, and the tools community staff and our own team use, are not tracked. We do not send your name, email address or account ID to Google Analytics, and Google Signals and advertising features are turned off.
• Search and location. Text you type into the location search box is sent to Mapbox to suggest places. If you choose “use my current location,” your browser asks your permission and shares your location with the site to find nearby communities; it is also sent to Mapbox to name the place you are searching from.
• Browser storage. The site stores small amounts of information in your browser to keep you signed in and to remember your questionnaire answers.

• To run the site, your account, and the features you use.
• To pass your tour requests, inquiries and messages to the community you contacted, and to send you emails about them and about your account.
• To answer questions you send us.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.
• To keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

With the community you contact. When you request a tour or send an inquiry or message, the community receives the details you entered so it can respond. If you ask about a community outside the area we currently serve, your request comes to KinnList instead, and we follow up with you by email.

With service providers that operate the site for us:

• Google Firebase and Google Cloud — hosting, sign-in, data storage and servers.
• Google Analytics — site analytics, as described above.
• Google Gemini — to answer companion questions.
• Mapbox — location search suggestions and maps.
• Our email delivery provider — to send account and notification emails.

When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public, or KinnList.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

• Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the site does not load Google Analytics at all.
• Do Not Track. The site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Global Privacy Control, above, is the signal we honor.
• Opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's browser add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
• Location. You can decline or revoke location permission in your browser at any time; search works without it.
• Access, correction and deletion. You can update your profile in your account. To request a copy of your information, or to have your account and its information deleted, email hello@kinnwell.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, and we will respond to requests as that law requires.

We keep account information, and the tour requests, inquiries and messages tied to it, for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and as needed to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

KinnList is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@kinnwell.com and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will give notice on the site.
